Terms of Use
Last updated: July 29, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Binji's website and iOS app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using Binji you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Binji helps you track TV shows, mark episodes watched, browse schedules, and receive optional episode alerts. Features may change as we improve the product. Binji is provided free of charge and may display advertising.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Binji.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not abuse, scrape, or overload the Service or its providers
- Do not attempt to access other users' private data
- Do not use Binji for unlawful purposes
- Do not reverse engineer or disrupt the Service except as allowed by law
Comments and community content
Binji lets you post comments on episodes. You are solely responsible for what you post. When posting, you must not submit content that:
- is hateful, harassing, threatening, or promotes violence against any person or group
- contains slurs, sexual or otherwise explicit material, or is obscene
- is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights
- is spam, a scam, or impersonates another person
Zero tolerance for objectionable content. We do not tolerate abusive users or objectionable content. We use automated filtering and human review, and we may remove any comment and suspend or permanently ban any account, at our discretion and without notice, for violating these rules.
Reporting and response. You can report any comment using the menu on that comment, or by emailing hello@binjiapp.com. You can also block another user so their comments are hidden from you. We aim to review every report and act on violations within 24 hours.
4. Your content
You retain rights to the watch activity, comments, and profile information you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate and improve Binji, including to moderate it as described in Section 3. You may delete your own comments at any time using the menu on the comment. Show titles, artwork, and related metadata are provided by third parties (notably TMDB) and remain subject to their terms.
5. Third-party services
Binji relies on third parties including Supabase, TMDB, Google advertising services, and Apple/Expo push infrastructure. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect schedule accuracy, or that every show or episode will be available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Binji and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Binji is provided free of charge; this limit reflects the allocation of risk between us.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of Sections 6 and 7 may not apply to you.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Binji and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
9. Termination
You may stop using Binji and delete your account at any time — on the web (Profile → Delete account), in the iOS app (Profile → Delete account), or by emailing hello@binjiapp.com from your account address. Deletion removes your account entirely regardless of where you created it. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users. Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. If you are a consumer residing outside the United States, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
